This event was a huge success, and it provided such useful and relevant insight into the world of sports marketing. We had two amazing speakers: Noah Gold who is a public relations consultant and Dan Bruton who is a sports marketing executive and consultant. Here are some of the highlights from the event:
Sports marketing has evolved a lot in the past couple of years
Agency life is very chaotic but you learn how to deal with it
Noah Gold worked on the Super Bowl and a new action sports league
Sports marketing requires working a lot of weekends since that’s when a lot of events take place
Corporate life is different than agency life because you are working on projects for one client versus multiple
Athlete and sports marketing can be very powerful and have a large impact on the company
Key elements of getting into sports marketing is being proactive, inquisitive, research, and be ready
Sports marketing has a culture of hard work and fun
Use multiple types of marketing in a new industry
Need to be ready for challenges
There are a lot more opportunities than you think because it’s more than a team or big company
Networking is the best way to find a job in sports marketing
Make your presence felt at your first job
Thanks so much to our speakers and everyone who attended. We hope to see you at our next event which is Demystifying a Career in Tech Marketing on Thursday, May 1st at 12:30pm in KCBE 126. Please RSVP here, and we hope to see you there!
