Marketing Student Internship Panel

In our Marketing Student Internship Panel, we got to here from a variety of students about their experiences as marketing interns at different companies. We had our very own AMA president Bridget Nelson talk about her experience at AMN Healthcare, another board member Olivia Basset with The Abbi Agency, Trevor Jones with The Shipyard, Sophia Timm with NBC Universal, and Gianna Eatonn with Boodle Box. Here are some of the takeaways from these incredible people:

  • Put yourself out there and find internship opportunities you’re interested in using resources like Handshake and LinkedIn

  • Be yourself and let you personality shine through

  • Finesse and update your resume to add as much experience as you can

  • Network with your professors because they know about the field and about some opportunities

  • Internships allow you to get real world experience on projects

  • You get to explore many departments and see many facets of the company you intern for

  • Learn what you’re looking for in the future

  • Make sure you put in the work during your internship and make connections with people you work with

  • Be confident and introduce yourself to as many people as possible

  • Don’t be afraid to apply for internships that might not sound like what you’re looking for because a lot of time you can tailor it to your skillset

  • Start the internship search as soon as possible
